Have you ever wandered through Heathcote’s Garden of Lights and wondered, How do they create such magical displays? Now’s your chance to find out! We’re thrilled to introduce HIU (Illuminator U – pronounced “HI-U”), a FREE hands-on workshop series where we pull back the curtain and teach you the secrets behind our breathtaking 2D & 3D light displays!
What is HIU?
HIU is Heathcote Botanical Gardens’ newest educational initiative, designed to share the expertise of our Illumination Team with the public. Over the next six months, we’re offering a series of immersive classes where you’ll learn the skills and techniques behind our handcrafted displays. From tree wraps to bonsai lighting, bottle flower creations to prop repairs, each session will focus on a different aspect of our illuminating art.
And the best part? All materials are provided!

Join us for our second HIU session on Wednesday, April 9th at 10 AM at Heathcote Botanical Gardens (210 Savannah Rd, Fort Pierce, FL). This class will focus on creating stunning flowers from recycled bottles! ♻️✨ We are committed to reduce, reuse, and recycle in all our Garden of Lights creatives, and now you can be part of that mission!
