Unveiling Summer Explore and More Days at Heathcote Botanical Gardens!

Summer is just around the corner, and at Heathcote Botanical Gardens, we’re gearing up for an adventure-packed season with our brand-new Summer Explore and More days! Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Walmart, the Morales family, 91.1 Treasure Coast’s R&B, St. Lucie Children’s Services Council, Rotary of Fort Pierce and Florida Arts and Culture, we’re thrilled to bring you eight weeks of exploration, discovery, and fun for the whole family, starting on June 7th. To attend these event for free register online in advance.

Every Friday, from June 7th to July 26th, families are invited to join us for a day of hands-on learning and excitement amidst the lush beauty of Heathcote Botanical Gardens. With a variety of engaging activities lined up, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store:

June 7th – Insect and Butterflies: Get ready to delve into the fascinating world of insects and butterflies as we uncover their secrets and learn all about these tiny creatures.

June 14th – Mind Your Surroundings: Embark on a garden scavenger hunt and discover the hidden gems lurking amidst the foliage. Who knows what treasures you’ll uncover?

June 21st – Garden Guru: Join us for a hands-on planting session and learn the art of starting plants from seeds. Take home your very own plant to nurture and watch grow!

June 28th – Plein Air in the Garden: Let your creativity flow as you create art inspired by the beauty of the gardens. Supplies will be provided, and you’ll take home your masterpiece as a memento of your day.

July 5th – Pioneer Day: Step back in time and experience life in Florida in the 18th century with a historical reenactor onsite. Try your hand at traditional chores and gain insight into the region’s rich history.

July 12th – Orchid Bees: Discover the mesmerizing world of orchid bees and learn about their crucial role as pollinators. Get up close and personal with these fascinating creatures and gain a newfound appreciation for their importance.

July 19th – Bonsai Exploration: Explore the largest public display of Bonsai trees in the United States and learn about the art of Bonsai cultivation. Take a guided tour of our gallery and immerse yourself in the beauty of these miniature masterpieces.

July 26th – Scavenger Hunt: Dive into the wonders of the Children’s Garden with an exciting scavenger hunt. Explore hands-on activities and enjoy a day filled with adventure and education.

To participate, advance registration is required, and spaces are limited.

Sign up for each date individually on our website to secure your spot. And don’t forget to dress in weather-appropriate clothing and bring water with you, as some activities may get a little messy! Again this event is free with advance registration. Click on the Date you want to sign up for and complete the registration.
