Birding at the Gardens: Discover the Joy of Birdwatching at Heathcote Botanical Gardens

Birdwatching is one of the most rewarding ways to connect with nature, and Heathcote Botanical Gardens provides the perfect setting to do just that. On Saturday, January 10, 2026, join specialist Eva Ries for Birding at the Gardens, a guided morning program designed to help participants discover, identify, and better understand the birds that call South Florida home.

During this outdoor class, you’ll learn where to look for birds, how to recognize them by sight and sound, and why birdwatching is such a powerful hobby. Birding sharpens observation skills, reduces stress, encourages mindfulness, and fosters a deeper appreciation for conservation and the natural world.

This program is ideal for both beginner birdwatchers and more experienced enthusiasts. After the class, guests are welcome to stay and continue exploring the gardens at their own pace—because birding never truly ends when curiosity is sparked. Minimum suggested class age is 12 years of age.

Join us for a delightful morning of birdwatching at Heathcote Botanical Gardens! Something fun to do in January on the Treasure Coast, Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County area
